Mother Nature

Many things have dominated our news over the last few weeks. This week is of course the tragic bush fires that have destroyed much of Victoria in Australia. Nature, sadly always has a cruel way of reminding us that she is charge. When we look back in time, there have been many many times that humans have lost their lives to natural disasters. So who is really in charge of this planet? Humans, or mother nature? What disasters can you think of that are simply caused by the power of nature? Who do you think is in charge? I am personally humbled by our planet and although there is debate that the fires in Australia are caused by man, the forces of nature have tragically conspired to add fuel to the flame.

One could argue that 'Mother Nature' is taking revenge on us for all of the abuses that we put her through: pollution, wars, destruction of forests and wildlife etc. We certainly don't take very good care of our planet, so why should we expect our planet to take care of us? Mind you, in the case of the fires in Victoria, the idiot arsonists are certainly not caring for Mother Nature (or the people) at all. If they are caught, what should happen to them?

i think mother natures fire are awsome but cruel in a way because it kills our forest and a lot of wild life.

we can help stop this not leaving rubbish in our forest because a lot of the grass in the rubbish starts the fires. the glass acts like a magnifying glass therefore when the sun shines on it. it heat the twigs up they catch on fire and then it burns the whole forest down.

i think man and mother nature should work mor coopertivley

I agree with Mr Casey. It does look like that mother nature is taking revenge on us, for exaple climate change??

I think that Mr Casey is right Mother Nature is destroying our world but we only have our self to blame for it. If we look after our world the world will look after us.

I think the bush fire in Victoria, Australia is very frightening. On one news in the last two weeks they said there are still a number of uncontrollable fires out there in Australia. If we actually think what we could do, we could save our planet and ourselves.

I think that if it is Mother Nature causing the fires it could be that she’s angry at us, or she’s balancing the scales of nature because there are no active volcanoes in Australia. But if it's arsonists doing it, they should be put in a locked steel room surrounded by ovens that will teach them a lesson.

Many people have been killed because of these huge bush fires but its not just the people its the villages and all the wild life over 250 people have died already and its expected that over 300 people will die.

Its really sad to see all the fires happening in Australia taking lives of the inocent.I agree with Mr Casey, We aren't taking care of the planet so why should it take care of us?
I think the solution to this would be to take care of the world and maybe there wont be so many natural disasters happening.
